About Us

We are an independent upscale boutique style agency offering the very highest level of service to our clients.  Started in 2004, High Note Realty has quickly become the leader in personalized Real Estate transactions of all types, serving both residential and commercial needs.  Through the multi-disciplined approach of the staff and the varied skills and talents of the agents within, High Note has secured an impeccable reputation in the communities served.

High Note Realty is the creation of owner Joyce Parlapiano, who is passionate about  Real Estate, culture, the arts, working with people so as to impact their lives and more.  Her efforts are totally devoted to the people who matter most; the clients.

Joyce's Background

Born in 1956, Joyce was raised and went to public schools in Enfield, CT.  She graduated in 1974 from Enrico Fermi High School.  Immediately thereafter, Joyce went on to attend Philadelphia College of Art, graduating in 1977.  While in college, she worked as a bartender at the Bijou Cafe (a swinging jazz club) and at the Wildflowers Restaurant, both in Philadelphia, earning herself the "Best of Philly" award for being a personable, highly skilled, and dedicated bartender.  Leaving college, she went on to work at the Paradise Rock Club as head waitress, bartender, and then shift manager.  She also went on to be the blushing bride of Allen Wolovick, her college sweetheart in the summer of 1977.

Picking up and moving back to MA, she took a job as manager at Party Favors in Brookline, then Bread and Chocolate in Newton, where she worked for the first time as a pastry chef and cake decorator, followed up by a short stint at The Hardcover & Colorado Public Library in Danvers & Brookline. Right about the time she began at The Hardcover, she and Allen had their first and only child, Nigel Wolovick, now a professional Musician.

Venturing into entrepreneurship in 1986, Joyce opened the "The Cakery" in Sharon, MA, her very first business.  She immediately began collecting accolades for her dedication to craft and quality, including the "Best of Boston" award in the Pastry Chef category.  Going out on top, she closed "The Cakery" in 1990 to spend more time with her family.  Not straying from service, she picked up a job as upper management in the Friendly's Coporation, then at Stromboli's Restaurant as GM, and also later at the Moon Woman Cafe as GM again.

Wanting to try something new, she began her dynamic and exciting career in Real Estate in 1996, with The DeWolfe Companies in Mansfield as a licensed Realtor.  Joyce was very successful immediately.  She cultivated relationships with potential buyers and sellers, conducting personable and professional interviewing processes to fully understand her clients needs.  She always delivered exceptional quality service and was told several times that she surpassed her clients expectations time and time again.  With DeWolfe, she was able to achieve a very high closure rate; a monumental challenge for someone relatively new in their career.  In 2001, Joyce went on with DeWolfe to become part of the Coldwell Banker team in Franklin, successfully managing the transition during the buyout.  The success of that office could largely be attributed to Joyce's efforts.

Finally, in June of 2004, Joyce proudly took the entrepreneurial plunge again, this time with her own Real Estate Agency, High Note Realty.  Combining her passions, she has fashioned this company to meet the highest of standards throughout the hospitality industry and the real estate industry.  Dedicated, personable, detail-oriented and service driven, Joyce is bursting with pride to be able to offer the benefits of her many years of experience to every single one of her clients, touching their lives in only the most positive ways.

Through High Note Realty, she strives to offer a combination of her interests, talents, and passions into a cultural, multi-disciplined, and highly skilled Real Estate Agency.

"As we continue to grow, we will be mindful of our desire to remain
an upscale boutique agency, conducting superb customized client care." -Joyce
